Your base camp while in Kathmandu will be the Hotel Marshyangdi, a three star hotel located in the vibrant Thamel district of Kathmandu. The hotel offers everything you will need to prepare for your trip and to relax after returning from your trek. The hotel has six storeys, a large restaurant, bar and relaxing garden where you will be able to escape the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. We have always found the staff to be very welcoming and the hotel very secure. Geared around trekkers and climbers the hotel has played host to many famous climbers including Lord J. Hunt (British Leader of the 1st successful Everest Expedition), Sir Chris Bonnington (British) and Mr. Erik Weihenmayer (American-The first Blind Everest Summiteer). The hotel also acts as a secure place to leave any excess baggage you do not wish to take with you to the mountain.
