Kilimanjaro is one of the world’s most famous trekking peaks with thousands of people summiting every year but it also has many spectacular and seldom used technical routes for all abilities.
Unlike the trekking routes on Kilimanjaro anyone wanting to ascend by one of the technical routes must apply to the Kilimanjaro Park Authorities (KINAPA) for special permission. KINAPA are not keen on letting unqualified climbers attempt routes that are beyond there abilities but from experience reasonable applications are never turned down.
At Lava Expeditions we are able to offer guided technical routes on Kilimanjaro and support for non guided technical routes. Part of our service is obtaining permission from KINAPA for your group to climb the technical route of choice. If asked by KINAPA we may require some documentation from you proving that you have the mountaineering experience to attempt the planned route. If your application is unsuccessful any moneys already paid to Lava Expeditions will be refunded in full.

2 Nights Accommodation at the Impala Hotel Arusha
Return transfer from Arusha to Kilimanjaro Park Gate
Climbing permit
Camping permit
Rescue fee
Assistance in Arusha to include Masai Guide for visiting markets
Pre climb briefing
All staff on the Mountain to include, bilingual technical Guides, Cooks & Porters
Sleeping tents, 2 persons per tent
Mess tent with tables and chairs
All food and fresh drinking water while on the mountain
Solar charging of small electrical devices, when available
Medical care on the mountain by trained personnel, if required
Sleeping mats & poles if requested prior to commencement of the trip
Technical equipment including ropes, Belay devices, Carabineers, Nuts, Ice Screws and Snow Anchors
