Only recently opened the route offers a pristine alternative to the heavily travelled Normal route.  The route ascends Aconcagua by way of the Horcones Valley offering beautiful views of nearby glaciers and peaks.  Although the route is harder than the Normal route it offers a higher rate of summit success.

Mules are used to carry all the equipment to base camp (4200metres) but after this all gear for higher camps has to be carried by the group.  We use a double carry strategy between camps allowing all members of the group ample time for acclimatisation; you will be expected to carry 15 kg to 20 kg between camps.  Rest days are used to help aid with acclimatisation and porters are available for hire at base camp for those not wishing to carry too much gear between camps.

Aconcagua is a very demanding peak and it is essential that those wishing to join the expedition are in good physical shape. You will be accompanied on the expedition by both European guides and local guides giving you the best possible chance of summit success and the best possible time on Aconcagua.
