Cover

We run expeditions of various lengths to various altitudes and every expedition we run has an element of risk.  We try our hardest to lessen the risk but mountaineering is by its nature, risky. 

The correct medical cover and vaccinations are very important and differ depending on the area you are visiting and the type of expedition you will be partaking in.  Many standard insurance policies do not provide cover for the altitudes we operate at and some of the policies that do cover high altitude trekking do not cover high altitude climbing. Before partaking in any expeditions run by Lava Expeditions you will be asked to sign a form stating that you have adequate cover for the altitude and the type of expedition you will be joining.

Many of the areas in which we operate require you to have certain vaccinations.  Some of the vaccinations like yellow fever can be compulsorily for entering certain countries and although most vaccinations are optional inoculation can still be beneficial.
It is very important you consult your doctor or local travel clinic before traveling as they will be able to supply you with up to date health advice with regards to the region you will be visiting.
