At
Lavaexpeditions
we do not offer any expedition we have not undertaken ourselves. Our
staff have local knowledge of the countries they operate in and the
mountains they climb and trek on. Our staff offer support both on
and off the mountain, and any assistance you need is always at hand.
Our mountain staff are all trained mountaineers who are qualified
in high altitude rescue and first aid at altitude.
We only use top of the range equipment that is suited to the environments
we operate in. Our guides and some of our support staff all carry
radios and on higher peaks a member of staff will always have a satellite
phone in case of emergencies. The tents we use have been specifically
designed for the climates, temperatures and altitudes we operate at
and these are replaced when they start to display signs of wear or
tear that could possibly affect their performance.
The environments and eco systems we operate in are very delicate
and our staff have been trained in environmental issues relating
to their place of work. Each mountain has its own delicate eco system
and through the continual training of our staff we are able to lessen
the ecological footprint our staff and clients make on the environment
around them.
A percentage of our companies profit goes towards supplying our
permanent staff with education and any medical assistance they may
require. We treat our staff very well and they take pride in being
a part of Lava Expeditions. The benefits of having a good working
relationship with our staff are passed on to our clients through
the service they receive while on our expeditions.
Our overall ethos
at Lava Expeditions is to support the local populations and environments
through training and to offer our clients safe and affordable adventures
at altitude.
